ACTIVATION OF BENTONITE: METHODS, MECHANISMS AND INDUSTRIAL SIGNIFICANCE
Keywords:
silicon dioxide, high swelling index, chemical activation, feldspar,, calcite, aluminum oxide.Abstract
this article explores the structure, composition, and physicochemical properties of natural bentonite clay and discusses various techniques used for its activation. The enhanced properties of activated bentonite and its wide range of industrial and environmental applications are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to thermal, chemical, and ion-exchange methods of activation and their influence on bentonite’s adsorptive and catalytic properties.
