Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) has transformed the traditional field of translation, opening new horizons for both theory and practice. While machine translation has existed for decades, contemporary neural models have reached unprecedented levels of fluency and accuracy. Nevertheless, the role of human creativity remains irreplaceable, especially in literary, cultural, and pragmatic translation contexts. This article examines the interaction between AI-driven translation technologies and human translation skills, highlighting the strengths and limitations of machine translation, the importance of creativity, and the evolving role of translators in the digital age. Furthermore, it discusses how future translators can integrate AI tools into their practice and how translation pedagogy must adapt to new technological demands.
