В связи с повышением среднего возраста людей по всему миру, число пациентов пожилого возраста резко возросло, что привело к росту процента людей с когнитивными нарушениями различной степени выраженности. Различные виды заболеваний, сопровождающихся когнитивными и поведенческими нарушениями, активно исследуются неврологами и психиатрами по всему миру. Одним из таких заболеваний является фронто-темпоральная деменция, многие аспекты которой до сих пор остаются неизведанными, что даёт почву для дальнейшего исследования данного заболевания.
