Abstract

This article explores the key challenges faced when translating English stories into the Uzbek language. It highlights linguistic differences, such as grammar, sentence structure, and tenses, as well as cultural discrepancies involving idiomatic expressions, social norms, and religious values. The paper also discusses the difficulty in preserving the original author’s voice, tone, and humor, while adapting cultural references to fit Uzbek readers' understanding. The article emphasizes that successful translation requires not only linguistic expertise but also a deep understanding of both cultures to produce meaningful and culturally relevant translations.
