The Importance of Phraseologisms in Our Daily Life
Abstract
Phraseologisms, fixed expressions like idioms and proverbs, are essential yet underappreciated elements of everyday language. This study investigates their roles in enhancing communication efficiency, preserving cultural identity, facilitating emotional expression, supporting cognitive processing, and fostering social bonds. Using qualitative analysis of linguistic examples from English, Uzbek, and Russian, alongside a review of psycholinguistic and cultural literature, the research reveals their adaptability and significance. Results show phraseologisms as versatile tools that bridge individual and collective experiences, remaining vital despite modern linguistic shifts. The discussion emphasizes their enduring value in human interaction and suggests avenues for further exploration.
