Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and antral follicle count (AFC) are widely used to estimate the quantitative component of ovarian reserve, but their interpretation is frequently distorted when ovarian stimulation response is conflated implementation implications of AMH and AFC, including their role in assisted reproductive technology, reproductive aging, polycystic ovary syndrome, fertility preservation and real-world evidence generation. Methods: This integrative evidence review uses publicly verifiable professional guidance and peer-reviewed methodological and clinical publications, with emphasis on the 2020 American Society for Reproductive Medicine committee opinion, the updated European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology ovarian stimulation guidance and World Health Organization infertility guidance.
