Keywords:
personal data, cybercrime, criminology, Rational Choice Theory, Digital Space Theory,Abstract
The rapid development of information and communication technologies has significantly increased the importance of personal data in modern society. Personal data are widely used in financial, medical, administrative, commercial and social activities, while their unlawful collection, storage, dissemination and use create new opportunities for criminal activity. In this context, traditional criminological approaches require reconsideration because crimes involving personal data are frequently committed in a digital environment characterized by anonymity, speed, borderlessness and transnationality.
