Abstract

This article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of assessing students’ knowledge in higher education based on information technologies. A comparative analysis of traditional and modern assessment approaches is presented, highlighting the pedagogical potential of digital assessment tools, electronic testing systems, distance learning platforms, and automated monitoring mechanisms. The role of information technologies in ensuring objectivity, transparency, and reliability of assessment is substantiated. Particular attention is paid to competency-based assessment, rating systems, and diagnostic evaluation. The findings contribute to improving assessment methods and enhancing the quality of higher education.
