Abstract

This article analyzes the scientific foundations and effective methods for developing independent thinking in elementary school mathematics classes. The importance of using various methods in the formation of independent thinking; the use of problem situations, game tasks, creative exercises and interactive methods is justified. The guiding role of the teacher in elementary school, the necessary aspects of supporting students' reflective thinking and an individual approach are also highlighted.
