SOCIAL BURDEN AND GENETICS OF PELVIC ORGAN PROLAPSE

Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a common disease affecting women. Despite the high prevalence of this disease very little is known about its etiology and pathogenesis. We speculated that NAT2, GST T1 and GST M1 polymorphisms might be a predisposing factor in the development of POP. Objective: To determine the correlation between NAT2, GST T1 and GST M polymorphisms and POP.
